Pinoy Cacao Is the Best!

Davao’s stature as the source of prime cacao and chocolate continues to grow stronger year after year. In 2021, Republic Act 115471 declared Davao City as the Chocolate Capital of the Philippines and the entire Davao Region as the Cacao Capital of the Philippines. This was in recognition of the region being the country’s biggest producer of cacao and its vital contribution in making the Philippines world-renowned and sought after by chocolate makers from the US, Europe and Japan.

Davao’s cacao has put the country in the international map for producing some of the finest beans that are currently being used not just locally, but globally, to make chocolate drinks, bars, candies and other chocolate-based products. The industry has helped provide livelihood for farming communities and artisan chocolate makers. Today, chocolate products made from Philippine cacao are also being recognized in top international competitions like the Academy of Chocolate Annual Awards and the International Chocolate Awards. If only to savor the best local chocolate – you must visit Davao!

No Way But Up!

Davao had the fifth fastest growing among the regions of the country and was sixth based on Gross Regional Domestic Product and Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure in 2023, according to the Philippine State Office of Davao. The growth continues as shown by the investment boom that the city has been experiencing since last year. The Davao City Investment Promotions Board says over Php 3.4 billion worth of investments were secured for 2024. This has carried into 2025, with Php 237 million in approved investments recorded as of March.

Davao City is widely acknowledged as an important center of development in Mindanao due to its strategic location, thriving business climate and strong links with other cities and countries. It’s rising prominence as a business destination makes it a vital stop for WOFEX. This year, we are marking the 20th staging of WOFEX Mindanao in Davao. We keep coming back to show our commitment and support for the F&B industry, which continues to thrive under the robust economy of the region.
